January 2013...before the beginning

I think it's time I shared our start to 2013.

After a wonderful Christmas spent with our families we had a quiet New Years Eve at home just the two of us.

BUT then 2013 got crazy busy and super fun.

On the 3rd January we relocated to a gorgeous upside down cottage in West Yorkshire to prepare for our big day.

Taken from the website so not the best quality sorry

My sister stayed with us for two nights and did an amazing job helping us to prepare for the wedding. She helped me bake cakes (and did most of the washing up yay!!), carried things, made favours, packed boxes and just generally got on with stuff when the Bride got bossy!!

On the Friday afternoon we went for our rehearsal at the church and as the wedding was practically half to three quarters a destination wedding nearly everyone at the rehearsal had traveled from quite a way so the excitement at the church was immense!! The Krispy Kreme doughnuts helped too.

After Church Craig and I decided we'd say our goodbyes and have dinner separately with our families and friends.

Craig went to the local Chinese with 20 of our nearest and dearest (on his side), they had quite the banquette but the best men looked after their groom and they were all in bed by 11:30pm!!

Left to right: Groom, Best Man Nick/Pete, Best Man Ben/Pete

I had dinner at the hotel with my family on one table and my best friends on another. The food was gorgeous but I was so preoccupied chatting away that I didn't get in any photo's with my girls so we'll have to make do with my Uncle Rogers snap of 3 out of 5 of the  Bridesmaids.

Left to right: My cousin Jodie, my almost sister in law Nina & my sister Bonnie

I fell into my HUGE 6ft (across) bed around midnight (after ruining my freshly painted nails by washing my hair before bed) and slept right through until......

1st January 2013

There's in a New Year in town!!

It's 2013. It's going to be busy I'm sure of it.

It all starts now. This weekend we get married!! I am so very excited.

I just wanted to share an idea I saw on Pintrest and I'm going to give it a whirl.

You take one jar and during the year every time something wonderful, fun or memorable happens you write it on a little piece of paper and pop it in the jar. On New Years Eve 2013 you open the jar!

Cherrio 2012!!

2012 has been a great year.

I've been Craig's Fiancee and he mine.
We went on a Lake district weekend break.
I was a Games Maker volunteer at London 2012 Paralympics.
We've celebrated my mum's 60th Birthday & my parents 40th wedding anniversary.
My sister worked hard and achieved big in her dream career of which I am very proud.
The Netball girls and I got all the way to the Final of the cup then celebrated our runners up trophies with champagne and chilli covered tortilla chips.
Brussels with my Phoenix girls was the opportunity to try Strawberry beer, the Hard Rock Cafe & mid air photo jumps.
My hen party in Leeds encompassed a relaxing spa, cocktail making, dinner with my fabulous friends and family, dancing and laughs followed by the bar getting shut down by police (not of the stripping kind).
Together as a family we've planned, organised and DIY'ed our wedding that's now only 5 days away.

Here's to 2013 being just as good if not better!!
Happy New Year to you and your's!!

Sick Sunday

It's the last Sunday of November, 41 days until the wedding, you're full of cold, you're missing out on a first birthday party because you can't take your sniffly coughy self and be around babies but your other half is going so what is there to do?

Here's my plan
-Break open the Goodiva Chocolates I purchased in Belgium
-Sit on the sofa and blog
-Tick a couple of jobs off the wedding to do list
-Make some boring pasta for lunch
-Take some medicine
-Listen to the Michael Buble Christmas album (it's a week too early for my traditional liking but it must be done!)
-Maybe fit in Franks Christmas album (before Craig gets home)
-Try and Skype my lovely Irish friend Marita in Toronto

I did not purchase 5 bags of Goodiva chocolate but I was kind of envious of the man who did.

Hope you have a nice weekend!

Hen Do Dress Dilema

Setting the hen do scene: Saturday night, Mid November, me & 22 of my nearest & dearest ladies, dinner, drinks & dancing in Leeds.

The Theme: Glamorous

The dilemma: As well as being fun and glam for the Hen do, I also plan to wear the dress for dinner with my family the night before the wedding so it has to be 'suitable'.

The choices so far....

Coast Purple

Coast Sequins:

House of Fraser Black:
